Growing up, almost every one of us has been a fan of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, right? I remember how excited I would be when I got a new comic for myself and spent all night reading it.
However, things changed entirely when Spider-Man was finally adapted for a live-action movie for the first time ever. I remember being in absolute awe when I saw Peter Parker swinging through the streets of New York for the first time.
There are three main actors that have taken on the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and all of them are brilliant in their own way. There’s always a huge debate on who the best Spider-Man is, but I won’t get into that since it’s pretty hard putting that Genie back in the bottle.
However, I have complied a list of the best Spider-Man movies (maybe all of them) that you should watch below:
1. Spider-Man
In the early 2000s, we had the privilege of watching the first ever live adaptation of Spider-Man, and even today, we’re amazed at how the CGI was way ahead of its time. The movie starred Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker and Tobey did an absolutely brilliant job.
We also saw Willem Dafoe as the menacing Green Goblin and I remember I used to get terrified of him; that’s how great Willem acted in the movie. I feel just as exhilarated today as I did as a child whenever I put on this movie.
If you wish to watch it, you can stream it online whenever you want. However, to make the best out of your streaming experience, you should have a reliable internet for a lag-free movie experience! I enjoy endless streaming hours with the Xfinity Internet for a slashed price!
Oh, and how could I forget? A fun fact about the first Spider-Man movie: if you remember the tray scene from the cafeteria, there was no CGI involved and Tobey Maguire actually did that scene himself! True Spider-Man!
2. The Amazing Spider-Man
Even though they say this movie was a flop, there was something about this movie that has always spoken to me. In this version of Spiderman, Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man, taking the mantle from Tobey Maguire.
Safe to say, Andrew did a pretty brilliant job as Spider-Man too! His co-star was Emma Stone who played the role of Gwen Stacy, Peter’s love interest. However, something happens towards the end of the movie that feels like a knife to the heart even today. Not going to give away the spoiler here!
Overall, Andrew was a really good rendition of a confident sort of Peter Parker and since the CGI had significantly improved, this movie had some of the best swinging effects, especially during the opening scenes of the movie.
3. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
“When will I know I’m ready?”
“You won’t, it’s a leap of faith.”
Though this movie is animated, it is still considered to be among the best Spider-Man movies of all time. We can easily say that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was “Miles” ahead (pun intended) with its stunning visuals and captivating story.
The movie is about Miles Morales and how he turns into Spider-Man after he is also bit by a radioactive Spider, while the Peter Parker in his universe dies fighting the Green Goblin and Kingpin. Then, another universe’s Peter, called Peter B. Parker, comes and teaches Miles everything he needs to know to save the multiverse.
There are certain moments in the movie that are bound to make you cry. If you want to take things up a notch, you should definitely watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as well. The sequel is enough to give you the kind of adrenaline rush that you will never forget, especially towards the end with its legendary cliffhanger.
4. Spider-Man: No Way Home
This one was no less than a treat for every Spider-Man fan out there. Even though this was part of Tom Holland’s trilogy as Spider-Man, the movie had a lot more to offer fans. The movie first showed the repercussions that Peter and his friends had to face after the world found out that Peter was Spider-Man at the end of Far from Home.
Peter then tries to figure out how he can fix the situation and he goes to Dr. Strange for help. Dr. Strange tries a spell so the situation can be reversed, but this ends up in other villains arriving from other Spider-Man universes, including Green Goblin, Sandman, and Doc Ock from Tobey’s Spider-Man and Electro and the Lizard from Andrew’s Spider-Man.
However, things get even more interesting when the other Spider-Men arrive as well, and I recall screaming at the top of my lungs after I saw Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Men again. You should definitely watch the movie too!
If you are a Spider-Man fan too, then you will find this article to be pretty relatable. If you want to make things more exhilarating, you should definitely play Spider-Man 2 on the PS5!
